Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the trelic trading app desktop application (the "Software") handles and where it goes. The short version: the Software is local-first — we do not operate servers that receive your data, and we do not collect, sell, or share your personal information.
1. Data Stored Only on Your Device
The Software stores the following on your computer, in your operating-system user profile:
Robinhood OAuth tokens — encrypted at rest using your operating system's credential protection (Windows DPAPI). We never see your Robinhood password; login happens in your browser directly with Robinhood.
Anthropic API key — encrypted at rest the same way.
Trading records — approval history, realized-P&L ledger, audit log, paper-trading account, guardrail settings, standing exit rules, crash logs.
This data never leaves your device except as described in Section 2. Uninstalling the Software and deleting its data folder removes it.
2. Where Data Goes When You Use the Software
The Software talks directly from your computer to services you connect. No traffic passes through servers we operate:
Robinhood — account data, orders, and market-data requests, under your OAuth authorization and Robinhood's own privacy policy.
Anthropic (Claude API) — when the agent runs, a snapshot of your connected account (balances, positions) and relevant market data are sent to Anthropic's API using your key so the model can produce analysis. This is governed by Anthropic's privacy and data-use policies for API customers.
Alpha Vantage (if you configure a key) — ticker symbols for historical data used by the backtester.
GitHub — the auto-updater checks for new releases, which discloses your IP address to GitHub, like any web request.
Sentry (optional, off by default) — if and only if a crash-reporting DSN is configured, crash reports (error messages, stack traces, app version, OS version) are sent to Sentry to help fix bugs. Crash reports are not written to include account balances, positions, or keys.
3. What We Do Not Do
We do not operate accounts, logins, or databases for the Software.
We do not collect analytics or telemetry.
We do not sell or share personal information with anyone.
We cannot access your brokerage account, your API keys, or your trading history — they exist only on your device and with the services above.
4. Children
The Software is not intended for anyone under 18.
5. Security
Secrets are encrypted at rest with OS-level protection, and the app's internal architecture separates the interface from order execution with confirmation gates. No security is perfect; protect your computer account and devices.
6. Your Choices
Disconnect Robinhood or clear the saved login at any time in Settings.
Remove your Anthropic key at any time in Settings.
Delete all local data by uninstalling and removing the app's data folder (`%AppData%/trelic trading app` on Windows).
7. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version will be presented in the Software. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version.
